The employees who were injured in slip and fall accidents were able to resolve their claims in only slightly less time than those with all other types of injuries. Pre-existing conditions are responsible for close to half of all denied claims for slip and fall injuries. Close to 70 percent of workers surveyed hired a Workers’ Compensation lawyer to help them with their case. Considering how often claims are initially denied, it is in the employee’s best interest to have an experienced lawyer on his or her side to help navigate the complex claims process. According to the survey of the employees who received a settlement, those who hired a lawyer received between $18,900 and $29,600. Employees who did not hire a lawyer received between $13,000 and $22,000.
